FAQ

Every day, people with Mohawks are asked any number of the following questions any number of times. Sometimes these questions are asked quite frequently by people who need to have their faces punched in. Regardless of whether you're a curious observer, interested in 'hawking your hair or need to have your face punched in, all questions encountered by people with mohawks will be answered here. If you'd like to donate your own questions and/or answers to questions, please feel free to send an e-mail to mohawkfaq@necrophiliacs.net.
  1. Why do you have your hair cut like that?
Depending on the tone of this question, you'll either get a polite response or get your face punched in. Since you're checking out the website, we'll settle for the polite response.
Almost everybody in Western society today who has a Mohawk haircut has it out of choice. As much as Jack Chick wants people to believe that there are "Satanic cults" out there that require people have these haircuts, there is absolutely zero evidence that proves these cults exist (but just like there being zero evidence to prove that Countess Bathory engaged in vampiric activity, people are going to believe what they want to, anyway). Our hair is cut like this because we decided we want it this way.
Now our reasons for these choices vary greatly, but the most common reason seems to be "I like it this way."
  2. How do you expect to get work with your hair like that?
Most common question asked by concerned and busy-bodied parents and educators all over the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and more conservative areas in Australia and New Zealand (cos that's where English is the offiial language). Arguably the most irritating question of them all.
Contrary to the commonly-held beliefs of those who ask this question, many people with mohawks are able to find jobs. True, most of these jobs are performing menial labour, working in body modification parlours (most often as piercers or as tattoo artists, though some of the more profitable bod-mod parlours are able to hire receptionists or minor janitors) and alternative clothing boutiques. Regardless of this, many people with mohawks have gone on to hold office-jobs and some even make their livings in all areas of the entertainment industry as animators, record-producors and even character actors (though many who both have a 'hawk and hold jobs in these fields work behind the scenes).
Almost all of us can get work if we put our minds to it. Even if we have to (and if the job permits it) we can cover it up with scarves, hats or even wigs. If we want the work that's out there, we won't let anything stand in our way and cutting off our Mohawks is no more the answer to getting a job then it is a guarantee to get a job.
  3. How do you get your hair like that?
There are many ways to cut and style a Mohawk. As a result, there is a How To page on this website that explains many ways people use to cut and style their Mohawks.
  4. How do you sleep with your hair like that?
Usually on our sides or on our stomachs, as Cdefiant's roommate decided to capture evidence of.
  5. Who does this site?
